Assisting with setting strategy and multi-team coordination and management relating to issues such as:
- Entry into UK market
- Participation in Regulator led programmes and auctions such as Capacity Market, CfDs, OFTOs
- Energy project development (generation, network or community energy scheme development)
- Operation of the GB Energy Market (including training/workshops)
Strategic and Commercial Data Centre Support
Working alongside client development and legal teams to co-ordinate input from development team and specialist external law firms to assist client with alignment between end-user (tenant) requirements, project structure, external third-party funder requirements and client/project supply chain.
Energy Commercial Arrangements
Advice on a range of commercial arrangements within the energy sector including:
- Sale and purchase of energy, including optimisation arrangements
- Network connection and private wire arrangements
- Heat concession, sale and adoption arrangements
- Energy business operational contracts including metering, central services provision, O&M arrangements, and asset management arrangements
- Energy regulatory aspects of buying and selling businesses and assets in the energy sector
Energy Regulation
Advice on interpretation and application of the Electricity Act 1989, Gas Act 1986 and other energy related legislation such as Utilities Act 2000 and Energy Act 2013 as well as subsidiary legislation and related codes and industry documentation including:
- The Connection and Use of System Code (CUSC), the Grid Code, the Retail Energy Code (REC) and the System Operator Transmission Owner Code (STC)
- The Uniform Network Code (UNC) and Independent Gas Transporters Uniform Network Code (IGT UNC)
- Capacity Market Regulations and Capacity Market Rules
- Contract for Differences and CfD Regulations
- Licences issued under the Electricity Act and Gas Act
- Ofgem Guidance and Directions
